Back in 1977 Jake Burton Carpenter invented snowboarding. Well actually, that’s not true but he did establish Burton Snowboards in Vermont after being inspired by Sherman Poppen’s Snurfer (google it!). Now the largest snowboarding company in the world, Burton’s team is home to the world’s best: Shaun White, Jeremy Jones, Terje Haakonsen and Hanah Teter.
